Protecting vehicles and the people who own them

AutoDOT brings forensic-grade holographic microdot technology to vehicle owners, fleets, insurers and police in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia.

Built in Silicon Valley to protect what people own

AutoDOT was developed in California's Silicon Valley as a theft deterrent marking system for bicycles, motorbikes, cars, trucks and the contents of homes and offices.

It grew out of years of work in holographic security printing and microdot technology, used by manufacturers, banks and governments to protect products and documents from counterfeiting. We brought that same forensic-grade technology to vehicle owners at an affordable price.

Today AutoDOT is the marketing brand of Holoptica LLC in the United States and United Kingdom, and of Holoptica International in Australia, serving vehicle owners, fleets, insurers and law enforcement.

What we provide

A complete vehicle marking service, from the kit on the workbench to the database police use at the roadside.

Vehicle marking kits

Microdots, holographic NFC tags, holoQR™ labels, coded decals, a UV pen, UV lamp and applicator, in one kit.

Professional fitting

A growing network of trained AutoDOT fitters and associates who mark vehicles for owners, dealers and fleets.

International registration

Every microdot PIN is recorded with the vehicle and owner details in our international database.

Warning decals

Window decals that tell a would-be thief the vehicle is marked, so they move on to an easier target.

Law enforcement access

Secure portal access so authorized officers can identify recovered vehicles and parts.

Insurance partnerships

Insurers can confirm a vehicle is marked and registered, supporting both underwriting and claims.

Simple psychology, forensic proof

Thieves want vehicles and parts they can sell quickly. A marked vehicle is harder to sell because pawnshops, second-hand dealers and police know to look for microdots.

If a marked vehicle is stolen anyway, its thousands of coded microdots link every recovered part back to the owner. A public AutoDOT awareness campaign is underway in several countries to spread that message.
